Mixed reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time.
Delivered through a head-mounted wearable display, mixed reality technology can provide enterprise employees with the best of both the physical and digital worlds—a real-time view of actual surroundings combined with an overlay of intelligent virtual objects, that allows for new interactions through gesture- and voice-based inputs.
MR can vastly increase people’s knowledge of the world around them by overlaying information in the context of the real world. It has the potential for numerous applications in enterprise including enabling sales teams to build a deeper understanding of a new product with their clients, standing virtually on a physical machine floor to help a colleague fix a problem from halfway around the globe, and viewing a correctly scaled 3D model of a product in real life, comparing it to the prior version and virtually modifying the product in real time.

Collaborative access to the same information allows multiple employees to engage with each other and work together on virtual assets in real time, and have the items interact with each other and the real word.
Display data and information from a centralised location. enhance collaboration by enabling remote teams to see exactly what someone is working on in real time so that they can provide better direction.
Class-based or online training courses can now be enhanced or replaced using mixed reality. New staff can be trained more quickly and effectively and any valuable skills lost by retiring workers can be retained in a mixed reality-led environment.
Mixed reality offers a hands-free method to access an expert quickly and inexpensively.
Organisations that used to rely on engineers, working with heavy and often outdated manuals, are now using mixed reality to dramatically cut call out times.
Workers can perform tasks with their hands free from a required controller, such as operating machinery and using tools

"The use of innovative and exciting technology is key to NCATI's vision and approach and PAULEY have been able to bring great ideas and application to the table for collaborative and interactive learning. Not scared to think out of the box, PAULEY have also been incredibly flexible working with us in a highly pragmatic way as a brand new start up. Very much a 'get on and do it' organisation."
Clair Mowbray, Chief Executive, National College for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure
"I am very impressed with the Augmented and Virtual Reality software that has been applied by PAULEY in delivering the next generation of digital training at the National Skills Academy for Rail – this type of equipment and technology will be essential in training the next generation of rail engineers."
Steve Scrimshaw, Managing Director, Power & Gas and Power Generation Services, Siemens
"We are really pleased to be working with PAULEY—they have demonstrated intuition and innovation in developing and delivering an interactive and immersive training experience, which adds greatly to how NTAR will bring alive its training. PAULEY's technology is about transforming training into a solution that is far superior to what can be achieved in the classroom – a unique learning experience."
Simon Rennie, General Manager, NTAR (National Training Academy for Rail)
"It has been an absolute pleasure to have worked with PAULEY over the last year. I have enjoyed it personally, learnt a lot along the way and we have a great new partner for the business. I very much look forward to progressing with our existing and new opportunities in 2018."
Chris Pike, Sector Director - UK Rail Business, Arcadis
"PAULEY are rapidly becoming the market leader in introducing new, innovative technology to training and skills development in the rail industry. They are seen as the technical innovator behind many of the new learning places in the rail industry (NTAR & National College for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure) and have proven amazingly competent in bringing paper based material to life in ways that are engaging and fun."
Neil Franklin, Head of Skills Intelligence, NSAR
"We found the team at PAULEY to be helpful and understanding of our requirements; our vision of a 3D interactive training and assessment programme was brought to life by Phil and his team. Phil's team took our ideas and challenged the boundaries, offering ideas and solutions to this initiative, delivering a programme that surpassed our expectations on time and in budget. We at Eurostar Engineering look forward to expanding our programme with PAULEY."
Chris Thompson, Engineering Training Manager, Eurostar International Ltd
"I am writing this as a personal testimonial and was driven to do so by PAULEY's innate ability to enthuse others not only on the capability of VR/AR, but the ingenious ways in which the tech can be applied to many areas. I chaired a debate at Railtex at which Phil PAULEY was on the panel, and I was more than impressed with they way in which the relevance of VR/AR to training and education was conveyed by him."
Lucy Prior, Membership Development and International Trade Director, Rail Alliance
"PAULEY are fast, responsive and innovative. Their ability to visualise new concepts has been invaluable in breaking new ground."
Dr Jurek Tolloczko, Business Manager for Defence & Security, Tata Group
"Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, and the team at PAULEY fit perfectly with our ethos. On the rare occasions we use external consultants, they have to be at the top of their field. PAULEY's outstanding record for creative conceptual design is evident in the work they produce for us."
Craig Jeffery, Group Digital Innovation Manager, JCB
"PAULEY produced a bespoke E-Training system that has been sent out to police and government agencies around the world. It paid for itself within the first few months, reduced overheads and increased profitability and has proven incredibly successful thus satisfying our overriding objectives and initial requirements very effectively indeed."
Graham Frost, Director, David Horn Communications Limited
"Trying to set a new technology standard is never an easy task in electronics. The animation created by PAULEY helped us to put the technology and its benefits into context and perspective for our target audience. Along with digitally generated stills, the animation attracted an unprecedented amount of media coverage and customer exposure for us. We couldn't have asked for more."
Paul Campbell, Marketing Communications Manager, Murata Power Solutions
"PAULEY worked on our brief for a high level consultation document and almost instinctively developed a concept that improved and clarified our proposition. They understood not only the need for high quality design input but also the need to engage with senior decision makers. It is also refreshing to deal with an agency who have a commitment to good old fashioned customer service and who bring a 'can do attitude' to all their work even on tight deadlines."
Michael Trotter, Business Development Director, The Vulcan to the Sky Trust
Phil's team at PAULEY is focused on delivering high quality, dynamic and visually impactful productions. Each project is undertaken with refreshing enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude. It's a pleasure to work with a team sharing a commitment to creative excellence.
Rob Chappelhow, Director, Aquos Yachts
"One of the greatest challenges faced by health and safety practitioners is how to facilitate learning which properly equips workers to operate safely in complex high risk environments. The Mission Room platform offers a fantastic opportunity to 'place' workers into virtual environments which allow real life experiences without putting them at risk, and the interactivity recently built in by Pauley has taken this to a whole new level."
Louise Ward, HSEQ Director, Siemens Mobility Limited
"As part of Porterbrook's approach to trialling new and innovative technology, we engaged PAULEY to create a virtual model of one of our trains. PAULEY quickly created a fully interactive model that showcased the train and different interior branding options. When we presented it to one of our customers, there were people queuing outside the meeting room to try out the VR tool and have a go. The VR model of our train has really helped promote Porterbrook's approach to innovation."
Helen Simpson, Innovation & Development Manager, Porterbrook
